Redwood Villa

Redwood reads best in the evening, once the table has been cleared. Someone lights the fire pit, someone else starts the projector, and within twenty minutes the group splits on its own: part of it gets into the hot tub and watches the film from there, from the warm water, with the cold Brașov air on their shoulders, while the rest stay at the ping-pong table. That is Villa Redwood's real difference — not that it has a projector, but that you can sit in hot water and watch something together with everyone else, without getting out and without moving indoors.

A group of eight fits comfortably into the four double bedrooms, and you feel it most in the morning. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, so there is no queue for the shower and nobody has to time their alarm around anyone else. The ground-floor bedroom is useful for anyone who would rather avoid stairs — parents, grandparents or a small child; the other three are upstairs. Eight guests are included in the price, and the villa takes a maximum of ten.

The villa is rented whole, to a single group, and that shows most clearly at the hot tub and the sauna. They aren't booked by the hour, nothing is shared with other guests and there is no schedule to work around — the only rule is quiet between 22:00 and 08:00. The hot tub runs on gas and holds a constant temperature, so it doesn't depend on anyone feeding a fire and it doesn't cool down halfway through the evening. The sauna is indoors, so it stays an option when it rains and when it's freezing.
